APPS | MOBILE VuHaus Music App Highlights Public Radio Stations on iOS, Android

VuHaus, a video platform and mobile app for music fans, has launched on iOS and Android devices, in partnership with a coalition of major public radio stations across the U.S. The app allows music lovers to discover new artists and view hundreds of HD videos of rare live performances and exclusive interviews, as well view live streams of concerts and events.

VuHaus users can search for their favorite artists, or browse featured playlists from specific artists or partnered radio stations. The app features an “Artist of the Week,” and also spotlights individual artists from partnered stations, presenting them alongside an interview with the artist or band, a video playlist of their best performances and more. VuHaus promises hundreds of new videos will be added to the app every month.

In a statement, VuHaus program director, Mark Abuzzahab, commented on the app:

VuHaus’ member radio stations have established a stunning track record for being crossover-hit makers and a launching pad for new artists. Artists have made their studios the first stop when they are on tour or want to debut new music, and the result is the type of mesmerizing performances you’d never experience at a concert hall, music festival or on TV.
To celebrate the app’s launch, VuHaus will stream three days of live performances from Non-Comm 2015, an event built around contemporary, noncommercial radio stations and the music industry.

VuHaus is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play. It’s also available on the Web.

Thus far, VuHaus has partnered with KCRW in Los Angeles, KEXP in Seattle, WFUV in New York, WXPN in Philadelphia, KTBG The Bridge in Kansas City, Mo. and KUTX in Austin, Texas. More station partners will be announced in the coming months.
